SUMMARY:MN CIT 24-Hour CIT Online Courses 1125
DESCRIPTION:24 Hour CIT Online Courses – POST approved. This is a series of 24 hours of eLearning courses for first responders which provide an understanding of major and severe forms of mental illness\, give an in-depth look at its implications for law enforcement\, develop a practical assessment plan for working with people in crisis\, as well as teach intervention and de-escalation techniques while addressing the safety for all involved. In addition to covering mental illnesses\, this will also include substance disorders\, suicide assessment\, adolescent and elder issues\, ASD\, PTSD\, suicide by cop\, officer wellness\, cultural considerations and implicit bias\, and mental health courts. \nThere will be 19 modules\, most are one hour\, a few are two hours as designated. After completion of the 19 modules (24 hours of online training)\, learners will be eligible to register for the 16 hours of in-person interactive role play scenarios with professional actors. Once both of these courses are completed\, learners will receive a 40-hour CIT class certificate from Minnesota CIT and will be eligible for 40 hours of POST board continuing education credit which includes the 16 hours of POST mandatory learning objective credits required for license renewal. \n**Login information will be provided within one week of registration. This registration is reoccurring monthly\, and modules are NOT required to be completed in the month you register.
