CLASS FULL: MN CIT 8-Hour Mental Health Awareness for Fire Fighters and other First Responders Jordan 050722

This 8-hour class is helpful in understanding the basics of mental illness. The class will cover an overview of mental illness: schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, mood disorders, cognitive disorders, personality and substance disorders. We will look at the causes and nature of the illnesses, typical patterns of behaviors, common medications, and guidelines for Fire Fighter response. Additionally, class participants will meet and hear from a panel of people living with mental illness. This course will be aimed primarily for First Responders, Fire Fighters, EMTS, Paramedics, Social Workers, Dispatchers, and other related occupations.
